Frequently Asked Questions

1What is Pilates?
Pilates is a method of movement that focuses on strength, mobility, posture, breathing and body awareness. It helps you build a strong foundation from the inside out. It’s not yoga, not physiotherapy and not a gym workout — it’s something beautifully in-between
2Who is Pilates for?

Pilates is for absolutely everyone.

If you’re a beginner, haven’t exercised in years, are navigating peri-menopause, have a busy lifestyle, or simply want to feel better in your body — you are welcome here. You don’t need to be flexible, strong or “fit”. You just need to show up.
3I’m not in shape… can I still do Pilates?

Yes. 100% yes.

Most of my clients start feeling “out of shape”, tired, stiff or unsure. Pilates meets you exactly where you are and helps you improve safely, gradually and confidently.
4Is Reformer Pilates too difficult for beginners?
Not at all. The Reformer looks intimidating, but it’s actually a supportive and adaptable piece of equipment. With guidance, beginners often find it easier than Mat Pilates because the springs assist your movement. My Introductory Reformer Offer is the safest and most comfortable way to begin.
5What are the benefits of Pilates?
Clients often experience:
  • Less back, neck or hip pain.
  • Improved posture.
  • Stronger core and glutes.
  • Better flexibility.
  • Reduced stress and tension.
  • Improved balance.
  • A more toned, aligned body.
  • Increased confidence and energy.
Pilates builds long-lasting strength and wellbeing.
6Will Pilates help me lose weight?
Pilates tones, strengthens and improves posture — which can change how your body looks and feels. Weight-loss depends on several factors, but Pilates supports your journey by helping you build muscle, move better and stay consistent.
7What’s the difference between Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates?

Mat Pilates uses your own bodyweight and builds core strength, control and mobility.

Reformer Pilates uses springs, a moving carriage and straps that support and challenge your body.

Both are excellent — many clients enjoy combining them for the best results.

8How many times per week should I do Pilates?

You will feel benefits with one session per week, especially if you are consistent.

For faster progress, two sessions per week work beautifully.

Consistency matters more than perfection.

9What should I wear or bring to class?

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing and optional grip socks. Bring water.

You do not need to bring any equipment — everything is provided in the studio.

10I have back pain / stiffness / peri-menopause symptoms / limited mobility. Is Pilates safe for me?

In most cases, yes. Pilates is low-impact and focuses on safe, controlled movement.

Please tell me about any conditions or injuries before your session so I can support you properly.

11Can I join if I’m pregnant or postpartum?

Yes, with modifications.

Pregnant clients are encouraged to book private sessions for personalised support.

Absolute beginners are also welcome.

12What if I haven’t exercised in years?

Perfect — you’re exactly who Pilates supports best.

You will be guided step-by-step, without pressure, comparison or judgment.

13Do you offer beginner-friendly classes?
Yes. Most of my classes are suitable for beginners, and the Introductory Offer is designed to help you learn safely and confidently.
14How long is each class?
Classes are 55 minutes — a full session focused entirely on you.
15What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel or reschedule your class through the booking system.

Please check the full policy on the website.

16Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — spaces are limited to ensure personalised attention. Booking ahead guarantees your spot.
